HAWKSHEAD WEEKEND 17th - 19th OCTOBER
The booking form in the recent 'Spokesman' for the weekend is incorrect - obviously so. It refers to "February" rather than the correct "October". Don't be put off - use the form and book as soon as possible.
Training rides:
Meet at Bolton Arena from December through to mid February, see the training page and message board for more details.
Sunday Club runs:
Club Runs start from the Royal Oak at Bradshaw, Bolton at 9:00am Sunday's. The destination quoted below is that of the cafe stop; the route will be chosen on the day according to weather and other circumstances. Ordinarily we expect to cover around 60 to 80 miles for the round trip, please bring along a spare tube.
These runs are intended for everyone and the pace will be moderate, i.e. social not training, however they are not suitable for very inexperienced cyclists.
Whilst all runs will start from the "Royal Oak" Bradshaw at 0900 an alternative pick-up point and approximate time is also shown. The intention is that this will benefit the widening geographical spread of our membership.
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO GO A LITTLE BIT FASTER:- There’s a Sunday STRAW ride (Steady Training Ride All Welcome) advertised on our message board and there's the racing lads Training rides.

Change of flights:
I said this was getting popular didn't I, well the original Thomas Cook flights are full, possibly having been booked by tour operators. The only other flight available from Manchester is more expensive and the times aren't as good.
Although I've got concerns with a large group going with easyJet it's now our best option, I'd advise anyone taking a bike to book soon.
Next years dates are: Friday 20th March (depart 07:00, arr. 10:25) - Saturday 28th March (dep. 11am return 12:45).
Staying at Pollenca Park hotel again, half board, transfers included, usual deal most of you have been before.
Ideal will book the whole thing as before without any extra on the flight.
Alternatively you can book the flight yourself and Ideal will arrange the hotel and transfers, please let me know if you're doing that so I can arrange the hotel and enough transport for the transfers. easyJet flight numbers: outbound 7143 / return 7144
Anyone wanting mini-bus transfer to Liverpool contact me.
Flight prices change daily with easyJet, in fact they changed twice mid-day today (26th), at today's price we saved £50 over the Thomas Cook flight. Everyone in the list below is booked on, the plus points to all this are we get an extra day with a cheaper flight.
Deposit: cheque for £150 payable to Ideal Travel
Booked so far:

Bike hire will be arranged nearer departure http://www.procyclehire.com if your not taking a bike the flight will be even cheaper.
Personally, this is one of the highlights of the year, mainly because of the fact this is a club trip. Pollenca Park Hotel has loads of experience giving cyclists exactly what they need, the food is great, the cycle storage is first class and nobody minds oily bikes going up in lifts!
